Softball Recap: Hinsdale South Comes Up Short

Hinsdale South fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Hinsdale Central on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Red Devils by a score of 13-12. The Hornets' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

Kayla Buckels-Meen was cooking despite her team's loss, going 4-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Yanez, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Hinsdale South's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13-1. As for Hinsdale Central, the win keeps they at an undefeated 6-0.

Hinsdale South and Hinsdale Central will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Hornets will face off against rival Addison Trail at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Hinsdale Central is set to square off against their familiar foe Oak Park-River Forest at 4:45 p.m. on Monday.
