Basketball Recap: The Classical Academy of Sarasota Comes Up Short

The Classical Academy of Sarasota was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 70-40 defeat at the hands of the Bayshore Christian Faith Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Patriots of the 81-58 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2021.

Bayshore Christian found their leader in sophomore Tylan Lewis, who posted 31 points and four steals. Lewis' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Hunter Peterson was another key player, putting up seven points and six steals.

The Classical Academy of Sarasota's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Bayshore Christian, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-7 record.

The Classical Academy of Sarasota didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-35 loss against Palm Grove Christian on the 14th. Bayshore Christian has also already played their next matchup, an 81-45 defeat against Indian Rocks Christian on the 10th.
