Softball Recap: Mather Wins Going Away Against Chicago Academy

Mather lost to Chicago Academy back in March of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Rangers put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 13-4 win. The Rangers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by nine runs or more this season.

Mather's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Kristin Kaporis, who went 2-for-3 with three runs. That's the most runs Kaporis has posted since back in April of 2024.

The win made it two in a row for Mather and bumps their season record up to 4-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Chicago Academy, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Mather beat the Cougars by a score of 6-3 later that day.
