Softball Recap: Bloom Has No Trouble Against Thornridge

Bloom got themselves on the board against Thornridge on Thursday, but Thornridge never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 15-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Blazing Trojan, who have now won ten matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Aryana Knaack, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalia Banuelos, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI.

Bloom always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .905. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The victory made it two in a row for Bloom and bumps their season record up to 10-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Thornridge, their defeat was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-7.

Bloom has already played their next contest, a 9-0 victory against Blue Island Eisenhower on the 26th. As for Thornridge, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Kankakee at 4:30 p.m. on the 5th.
