Baseball Game Preview: Clarksville Generals vs. Mitchell Bluejackets

The Clarksville Generals will venture away from home to face off against the Mitchell Bluejackets at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with eight defeats in a row, Clarksville turned things around against Crothersville on Monday. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 6-2.

Clarksville got a massive performance out of Talon Moore, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs. That's the most runs Moore has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jayden Arnold, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double.

Meanwhile, Mitchell beat Eastern 5-2 on Wednesday. The Bluejackets haven't had any issues with the Musketeers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Gavin Martin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Mitchell is 4-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-11 otherwise.

At the plate, Blake King and Ryker Moore did most of the damage at the plate: King went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI, while Moore went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs. That double was King's first of the season.

Clarksville's record is now 3-19. As for Mitchell, their record now sits at 8-13.

Clarksville suffered a grim 20-1 defeat to Mitchell when the teams last played back in May of 2023. Can the Generals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
