Basketball Game Preview: Margaretville Central Blue Devils vs. Stamford Central Indians

The Margaretville Central Blue Devils will take on the Stamford Central Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Margaretville Central has three straight victories, Stamford Central has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

While Margaretville Central didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-7), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They enjoyed a cozy 61-47 win over Gilbertsville-Mt. Upton on Tuesday. Given the Blue Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 350th, while the Raiders are ranked 745th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Stamford Central came up short against Charlotte Valley on Friday and fell 55-42.

Margaretville Central's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Stamford Central, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Everything came up roses for Margaretville Central against Stamford Central in their previous matchup back in November of 2023, as the squad secured a 64-28 win.
