Baseball Game Preview: Cherryvale Chargers vs. Riverton Rams

The Cherryvale Chargers will face off against the Riverton Rams at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for Cherryvale: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home dating back to last season, while Riverton has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road also dating back to last season.

Cherryvale might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 13-3 to Field Kindley, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Cherryvale saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Elliot, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Trenton Grimm also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Meanwhile, Riverton got themselves on the board against Marmaton Valley on Monday, but Marmaton Valley never followed suit. They blew past the Wildcats 15-0. The victory continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won three in a row.

Cherryvale's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Riverton, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
