Basketball Game Preview: Green Valley Gators vs. Palo Verde Panthers

Green Valley and Palo Verde are an even 4-4 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The Green Valley Gators will head out on the road to take on the Palo Verde Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Green Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Sunrise Mountain 69-35 on Wednesday. The Gators pushed the score to 64-27 by the end of the third, a deficit the Miners cut but never quite recovered from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Green Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Da?Quan Brown, who posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Magnus Siegel, who had 12 points.

Meanwhile, Palo Verde waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Roadrunners 84-44.

Green Valley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 3-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Palo Verde, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Green Valley was taken down by Palo Verde 77-48 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Green Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
