Baseball Recap: Dixie Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

Dixie won the last time they faced Pine View and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Flyers walked away with a 6-1 win over the Panthers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Flyers.

Jake Andreas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on seven hits and racked up eight Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Dixie is 5-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-8 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Carson Hunt, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in March. Carter Turley was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Dixie pushed their record up to 11-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Pine View, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-8-1 record this season.

Dixie will have a chance to go back-to-back against Pine View: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
