Baseball Game Preview: Abernathy Antelopes vs. Sudan Hornets

Abernathy is 0-3 against Sudan since February of 2023 but things could change on Tuesday. The Antelopes will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hornets at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

New Deal hit Abernathy with a four-run first inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Antelopes came up short against the Lions, falling 13-3. That's two games in a row now that the Antelopes have lost by exactly ten runs.

Meanwhile, Sudan suffered their biggest defeat since May 2, 2025 on Saturday. They lost 12-2 to Hale Center.

Sudan saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Haden Provence, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Provence has hit this season.

Sudan now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Abernathy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

Abernathy couldn't quite get it done against Sudan in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 as they fell 9-4. Can the Antelopes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
