Basketball Recap: Lapel Bulldogs vs. Wapahani Raiders
The Lapel Bulldogs won against the Wapahani Raiders last Saturday with 50 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. Lapel walked away with a 50-37 win over the Raiders. The win was familiar territory for Lapel who now have three in a row.
Lapel was led to victory by Madelyn Poynter and Laniah Wills. Poynter scored 14 points along with four steals, while Wills dropped a double-double on 18 points and 17 rebounds. Wills hasn't dropped below ten rebounds for four straight games. Rosemary Likens was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Defeat or not, Wapahani got some senior leadership from Destiny Felder and Zoey Swallow. Felder scored 11 points, while Swallow. scored 12 points.
Lapel has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. As for Wapahani, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-6.
Lapel will take on the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Wapahani, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Raiders at 7:30 p.m. Shenandoah is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
