Soccer Recap: Heritage Takes a Loss

Heritage's game on Friday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of the Independence Knights by a score of 2-1. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Coyotes came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 132nd in Texas, while the Knights are ranked 458th in Texas).

Heritage's goal came courtesy of Ethan Rangel, who's now up to four this season.

Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Independence, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 3-9.

Heritage didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Memorial on the 25th. As for Independence, they have also already played their next game, a 5-0 defeat against Emerson on the 25th.
