Baseball Recap: Centennial Comes Up Short

Franklin hit Centennial with a four-run seventh inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars fell 10-5 to the Admirals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Admirals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-0 on Monday.

Ben Gant was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run. Turner Tippitt was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI.

Centennial has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-14 record this season. As for Franklin, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-8.

While Centennial had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
