Belvidere North extended their winning streak to six on Friday, bumping them up to 6-0. They enjoyed a cozy 37-20 victory over the Belvidere Bucs. The Blue Thunder pushed the score to 37-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bucs cut but never quite recovered from.

As for Belvidere, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-4. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 344th, while Belvidere North is ranked 99th).

Belvidere lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Arturo Alvarez, who rushed for 82 yards and one touchdown. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 79 yards. Nic Alvarez helped out on the ground, rushing for 92 yards and a rushing touchdown.
