Basketball Recap: St. Petersburg Catholic Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

St. Petersburg Catholic and Bradenton Christian squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but St. Petersburg Catholic had to settle for second. They took a 48-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bradenton Christian Panthers. The loss continues a trend for the Barons in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost three in a row.

Bradenton Christian was led to victory by Taylor Blunden and Amelia Dammann. Blunden dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Dammann posted 17 points along with seven boards and five steals. Blunden has become a key player for Bradenton Christian: the team is 4-2 when she posts at least ten rebounds, but 9-10 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Blunden, who earned six points.

St. Petersburg Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 18-10. As for Bradenton Christian, they now have a winning record of 13-12.

As of now, neither St. Petersburg Catholic nor Bradenton Christian have any future games scheduled.
