Volleyball Recap: Eastland Mavericks vs. Early Longhorns
Eastland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell just short of the Early Longhorns by a score of 3-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mavericks of the 3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September.
Eastland took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-11, 22-25, 13-25, 25-19, 15-8.
Despite the loss, Eastland still got an impressive performance from Kesley Johnson, who had 19 digs.
Even though they lost, Eastland was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September.
Eastland's loss dropped their record down to 7-20. As for Early, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-15.
Eastland will venture away from home to take on Millsap at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Early, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Tolar on the 26th.
