Soccer Game Preview: St. James vs. California

The St. James Tigers will take on the California Pintos at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. St. James' last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

St. James' defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over Owensville. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, California fell victim to Stover and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They lost 4-0 to the Bulldogs. That's two games in a row now that California have lost by exactly four goals.

California has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for St. James, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-7.
