Baseball Game Preview: FAMU DRS Baby Rattlers vs. Crossroad Academy Scorpions

The FAMU DRS Baby Rattlers will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Crossroad Academy Scorpions at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

FAMU DRS is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 19 runs back in February, they were much more limited against Godby back in February. They lost 18-2 to the Cougars. The Baby Rattlers have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meetings.

FAMU DRS saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kamari Copeland, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI.

Even though they lost, FAMU DRS was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .500 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Crossroad Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Franklin County, falling 21-0.

Crossroad Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for FAMU DRS, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Everything went FAMU DRS' way against Crossroad Academy in their previous matchup back in February, as FAMU DRS made off with a 19-2 victory. Does FAMU DRS have another victory up their sleeve, or will Crossroad Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
