Basketball Game Preview: Boerne-Champion Chargers vs. New Braunfels Unicorns

The Boerne-Champion Chargers will take on the New Braunfels Unicorns in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Boerne-Champion was able to grind out a solid victory over Pieper, taking the game 52-45. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Chargers.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask New Braunfels). They put the hurt on Smithson Valley with a sharp 75-52 win on Tuesday.

New Braunfels is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.9 points per game. As for Boerne-Champion, their victory bumped their record up to 15-3.

Boerne-Champion strolled past New Braunfels in their previous meeting back in December of 2020 by a score of 58-44. Will Boerne-Champion repeat their success, or does New Braunfels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
