Baseball Recap: New Ulm's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but New Ulm ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They skirted past the St. Peter Saints 3-2. The win was just business as usual for the Eagles, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

The team relied heavily on Zach Hubbard, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Hubbard is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dirk Haynes, who went 2-for-5 with two RBI and one double.

New Ulm's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for St. Peter, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Looking ahead, New Ulm will challenge Belle Plaine at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. As for St. Peter, they will head out to challenge Marshall at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
