Basketball Recap: Crespi Now 11-2 over Last 13 Games

Crespi won the last time they faced Loyola and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Crespi Celts walked away with a 68-56 win over the Loyola Cubs. Given the Celts' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Cubs are ranked 117th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Crespi to victory, but perhaps none more so than Peyton White, who went 7 of 11 en route to 18 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Barnes, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 19 points.

Crespi has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points per game. As for Loyola, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-10.

Crespi will be playing at home against Notre Dame (SO) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Crespi knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 matches -- so hopefully Notre Dame (SO) likes a good challenge. Loyola has already played their next contest (against St. Francis), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
