Baseball Recap: Guymon Triumphs

Guymon came out on top against Forgan on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run third inning. The Tigers walked away with a 9-4 win over the Bulldogs. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Kyle Harmon was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Guymon is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 2-3 otherwise. Harmon was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2025.

In other batting news, Andres Ozaeta was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Ozaeta is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Julius Villarreal also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

Guymon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win got Guymon back to even at 4-4. As for Forgan, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Guymon and Forgan will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Tigers see the field they'll take on Carl Albert at 3:30 p.m. on the 23rd. As for Forgan, their break will end when they face Mooreland at 4:00 p.m. on the 23rd.
