Recap: California Grizzlies vs. College Park Falcons

After flying high against the Laguna Hills Hawks last Saturday, the California Grizzlies came back down to earth. California opened the new year with a less-than-successful 45-36 loss to College Park. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points California has scored all season.

California lost on Saturday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being DANE WALLACE, who scored nine points. BRAYDE KUYKENDALL was another key contributor, scoring eight points.

Miles Smith was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points for College Park. The game was Smith's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Whittles, who scored eight points along with seven assists and five rebounds.

California's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for College Park, their victory bumped their record up to 6-9.

California will look to defend their home court on Monday against Alhambra at 7:30 p.m. Alhambra is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 59.3 points per game. As for College Park, they will head out on the road to face off against Miramonte at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Miramonte knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully College Park likes a good challenge.
