Baseball Game Preview: Breckinridge County Fighting Tigers vs. Meade County Green Waves

For the second straight game, Breckinridge County will face off against Meade County. The Fighting Tigers will head out to face off against the Green Waves at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Breckinridge County is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.

If Breckinridge County beats Meade County with five runs on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Fighting Tigers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Green Waves a 5-0 shutout on Wednesday.

Not much got past Tristan Wicker, who gave up just four hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Meade County off the board. Wicker has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Hayden Henry was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Adam Howell was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Breckinridge County's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Meade County, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 16-8.
