Basketball Game Preview: Polytechnic Panthers vs. Providence Pioneers

Polytechnic hasn't had much luck against Providence recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Polytechnic Panthers will welcome the Providence Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. Polytechnic is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

Last Wednesday, Polytechnic was able to grind out a solid victory over Rio Hondo Prep, taking the game 52-39. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 478th, while the Kares are ranked 1052nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Providence was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 60-55 to Servite. The Pioneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Polytechnic is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.4 points per game. As for Providence, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.
