Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for North Arlington

North Arlington had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Lyndhurst Golden Bears a 7-0 shutout. The Vikings not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 9th (when they won 19-2).

Cadence Mansfield made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isabella Buccheri, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Lyndsay Gilbert was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

The win got North Arlington back to even at 7-7. As for Lyndhurst, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-8.

Coming up, North Arlington will head out to take on Wallington at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lyndhurst, they will be playing at home against Hasbrouck Heights at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
