Softball Recap: Atlantic Drops Season-High Score on Pine Ridge

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Atlantic). They put the hurt on the Pine Ridge Panthers with a sharp 25-12 victory on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Sharks.

Amelia Reavis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and six unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season.

At the plate, Kendal Carson was incredible, going 4-for-5 with four runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexus Summerall, who scored a run and stole a base while going 11-for-4.

Atlantic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .846. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-3-1. As for Pine Ridge, their loss was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-10-1.

Atlantic wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 23-3 defeat against DeLand on the 28th. As for Pine Ridge, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 19-4 loss against Orangewood Christian on the 31st.
