Basketball Recap: Mendenhall Wins Going Away Against Brookhaven

A well-balanced attack led Mendenhall over Brookhaven in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. The Mendenhall Tigers blew past the Brookhaven Panthers 73-47. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 26 points or more this season.

Brookhaven lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kordell Collins, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. Collins is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Tristian Thomas was another key player, putting up nine points.

Mendenhall has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 36.8 points. As for Brookhaven, they dropped their record down to 8-3 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mendenhall and Magee will compete for holiday cheer at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Magee will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Mendenhall surely won't give up without a fight. Brookhaven will take on South Pike in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
