South Panola's Griffin named U.S. Air Force POW

Few high school running backs in the nation are off to a start as impressive as
Qyendairs Griffin of
South Panola (Batesville, Miss.).
During a 65-35 win over Colquitt County (Moultrie, Ga.) on Aug. 28, the 6-foot, 215-pounder tallied 286 yards and six touchdowns on 25 carries. That monster performance earned Griffin U.S. Air Force National Player of the Week honors.
Griffin's 2010 debut against Petal (Petal, Miss.) on Aug. 21 included 230 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries. He followed his POW outing by tacking up 233 more yards and three touchdowns in a 39-2 win over Memphis University (Memphis, Tenn.).
