Softball Recap: Silas Rams vs. Bellarmine Prep Lions
Silas came out on top against Bellarmine Prep on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run sixth inning. The Rams took their matchup against the Lions 14-10. The win continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won three in a row.

Natalie Medalia made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
In other batting news, Silas got a big performance out of Nevaeh Rodriguez, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Claire Walsh, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Silas kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March.
Silas now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Bellarmine Prep, their defeat was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-13.
We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Silas will take on rival Lincoln at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Bellarmine Prep is set to square off against their familiar foe Mount Tahoma at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
