Walnut is 6-1 against Hickory Flat since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Walnut Wildcats will host the Hickory Flat Rebels at 5:30 p.m. Walnut is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.

It was a proper cat-fight when Walnut took on Hamilton on Thursday. Walnut fell just short of Hamilton by a score of 6-5. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost three in a row.

Walnut saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brittan Dawkins, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Matti Mayo also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Hickory Flat was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Falkner, falling 15-0.

Hickory Flat's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Walnut, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Hickory Flat's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Walnut hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .389. It's a different story for Hickory Flat, though, as they've only averaged .205. Will they be able to contain Walnut's hitters?

Everything went Walnut's way against Hickory Flat when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Walnut made off with a 20-1 win. Will Walnut repeat their success, or does Hickory Flat have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
