Volleyball Recap: Oswego Comes Up Short

Oswego was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Erie Red Devils. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indians of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-16.

Oswego's offense was headlined by Autumn Neblett and Colby Pease, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Kodi Trimble and her nine assists. Pease was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Leading Erie to victory were Lillee Gawel and Lila Michael. Gawel had 17 digs, while Michael hit 60% for six kills and five aces, four blocks, and three digs. The last time Michael's hitting percentage was this high was over her last seven games.

Oswego's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Erie, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.

Looking ahead, Oswego will head out to take on Sedan on Thursday. As for Erie, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Crest on the 23rd.
