Baseball Recap: Riverside Comes Up Short

If Riverside was riding high fresh off their 11-0 takedown of Madison on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers fell just short of the Huntingdon Mustangs by a score of 4-3 on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 14-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Cody Brasher was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Newberry, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Riverside's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Huntingdon, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-2.

While Riverside had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:05 p.m. on Friday.
