Basketball Recap: Georgiana Takes Down Florala in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Georgiana had no trouble coming through when it counted. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat the Florala Wildcats 82-55. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their 14th in a row.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rayshon Coleman, who went 9-for-21 en route to 22 points and five boards. Coleman has been hot, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Elijah McMeans, who went 5-for-11 on his way to 11 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.

Georgiana pushed their record up to 23-4 with the win, which was their 28th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.8 points over those games. As for Florala, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 16-3.

Georgiana wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 49-46 loss against Shields on the 11th. Florala does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
