Recap: Patrick Henry Patriots vs. Kearny Komets

The Patrick Henry Patriots posted their biggest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They breezed by Kearny at home to the tune of 59-26. Given Patrick Henry's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 391st, while Kearny is ranked 1235th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Derek McBride, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 12 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenneth Klu, who scored seven points along with two steals.

Patrick Henry has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. As for Kearny, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14.

Patrick Henry will look to defend their home court on Friday against Mira Mesa at 7:30 p.m. Mira Mesa knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Patrick Henry likes a good challenge. As for Kearny, they will head out on the road to challenge Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Christian's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Kearny has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
