Baseball Recap: Concord Takes a Loss

After soaring to 15 runs the game before, Concord was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They came up short against the Viola Longhorns, falling 14-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Longhorns this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-4 back in March.

Concord saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Preston Fitzpatrick, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double. Fitzpatrick has become a key player for the Pirates: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-10 otherwise.

Concord's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Viola, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Concord wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 13-0 defeat against Quitman on the 25th. As for Viola, they have also already played their next game, a 6-4 loss against Calico Rock on the 25th.
