Volleyball Recap: Menlo-Atherton Picks Up 11th Straight Win at Home

Menlo-Atherton entered their tilt with San Mateo on Wednesday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They came out on top against the Bearcats by a score of 3-1. That's more bragging rights for the Bears, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Menlo-Atherton had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-21, 25-15, 25-16.

Ben Warner paced Menlo-Atherton's offense, picking up 19 kills. Warner got some help from Peter Chriss and his 49 assists. Warner was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Menlo-Atherton pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. As for San Mateo, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-6.
