Volleyball Recap: MAST Academy Comes Up Short

MAST Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart Cyclones. The Makos were not able to make up for their loss to the Cyclones from their previous meeting back in October of 2023.

The final score came out to 25-17, 21-25, 25-14, 25-10.

Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isabella Whitby led the charge by getting 13 digs and five aces. Those five aces gave Whitby a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Valeria Jimenez-Maydon, who had 12 digs and two aces.

MAST Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart, their record is now 5-12.

MAST Academy has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Coral Reef on the 9th. As for Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart, they will square off against Coral Shores at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hurricanes will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Cyclones surely won't give up without a fight.
