Softball Recap: Bartlett Golden Bears vs. Dimond Lynx

Bartlett had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 14-3 to the Dimond Lynx. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Bartlett of the 14-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

For Dimond's part, Alaina Reynolds made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Reynolds was also big at the plate, going 3-for-3 with three RBI and a double.

In other batting news, Dimond got a massive performance out of Kinsey MacDonald, who went 2-for-2 with a home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Chloe Severson, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2.

The victory (which was Dimond's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bartlett will take on Eagle River at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Dimond, they will head out on the road to challenge West Anchorage at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
