Football Game Preview: Northwestern Tigers vs. Wabash Apaches

The Northwestern Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Wabash Apaches at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northwestern has given up an average of 28.2 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Northwestern is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Maconaquah just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 42-28 bruising from the Braves. The matchup was a 21-21 toss-up at halftime, but the Tigers couldn't quite close it out.

Northwestern's defeat came about despite a quality game from Bradyn Wilson, who picked up 101 receiving yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, Wabash scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 47-41 to Northfield. The loss continues a trend for the Apaches in their meetings with the Norsemen: they've now lost seven in a row.

Northwestern will have to contain Haiden McWhirt as he made an impact in Wabash's last game. He threw for 212 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 56 yards. 87 of McWhirt's passing yards were hauled in by Treyce Daughtry.

Northwestern's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Wabash, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Everything came up roses for Northwestern against Wabash in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 40-6 victory. In that game, the Tigers amassed a halftime lead of 27-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
