Lakeland Preparatory had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They beat the Milan Bulldogs on Thursday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 19 matches by ten runs or more this season.

Olivier Grandchamp spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lakeland Preparatory let Brett Godwin and Ryan Pitts run wild. Godwin got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI, while Pitts went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave Godwin a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Peeler Easton, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Lakeland Preparatory has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 19 of their last 20 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.2 runs over those games. As for Milan, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-18.
