Softball Recap: Seminole Ridge's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak at Home

There's no place like home for Seminole Ridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They never let the Westminster Academy Lions get on the board and left with a 3-0 win on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Hawks: when they faced off against the Lions back in March, they had to take a 8-7 loss.

Not much got past Cailee Sessions, who gave up just four hits to keep Westminster Academy off the board. Sessions has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Seminole Ridge let Haven Berryhill and Hailey Goode run wild. Berryhill scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Goode scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most stolen bases Goode has posted since back in March of 2024.

Seminole Ridge's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-10. As for Westminster Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season.

Seminole Ridge will head out to face off against Dr. Joaquin Garcia at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westminster Academy, they will be playing at home against Florida Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
