Baseball Recap: St. Augustine Takes a Loss

After flying high against Middleburg last Friday, St. Augustine came back down to earth. The Yellow Jackets took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bishop Kenny Crusaders on Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets haven't had much luck with the Crusaders recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Drew O'Quinn and Maddux Dowler stepped up to the plate in a big way. O'Quinn went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI, while Dowler scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

St. Augustine's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Bishop Kenny, their record now sits at 5-17.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Augustine will venture away from home to square off against Wolfson at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bishop Kenny, they will head out to challenge Nease at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Crusaders are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
