Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Monona Grove). They claimed a resounding 81-41 victory over the McFarland Spartans. Given the Silver Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while the Spartans are ranked 345th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Monona Grove's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for McFarland, they dropped their record down to 2-10 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.

Monona Grove will square off against Reedsburg at 12:40 p.m. on Saturday. Monona Grove is facing Reedsburg at the right time seeing as Reedsburg is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for McFarland, they will take on Verona at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Verona will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something McFarland surely won't give up without a fight.
