Cumberland waltzed into their contest on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Lincoln Lions. That's more bragging rights for the Clippers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Ben Jahnz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brody Enos, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Nocera, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
