Basketball Recap: Olympia Comes Up Short

Olympia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a 58-39 bruising from the Pleasant Plains Cardinals. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 479th, while the Cardinals are ranked 153rd).

Olympia's defeat dropped their record down to 8-17. As for Pleasant Plains, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-10.

Coming up, Olympia will square off against Athens at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pleasant Plains has already played their next contest (against El Paso-Gridley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
