Basketball Game Preview: Columbus North Bull Dogs vs. Whiteland Warriors

The Columbus North Bull Dogs will face off against the Whiteland Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Columbus North is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.9 points per game this season.

Columbus North is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Franklin Central just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Saturday. They received a blow as they fell 62-45 to the Flashes.

Despite the defeat, Columbus North saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kaylie Harmon went 6 of 10 on her way to 15 points. The game was Harmon's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Terry, who posted six points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Whiteland). They blew past Anderson 72-43 last Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Warriors have posted since January 30, 2024.

Whiteland moved to 5-10 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Columbus North, their loss dropped their record down to 13-2.

Columbus North came up short against Whiteland when the teams last played back in January of 2018, falling 62-56. Thankfully for Columbus North, Mackenzie Blazek (who dropped a triple-double on 25 points, 17 boards, and 11 blocks) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
