Basketball Recap: BASIS Phoenix Comes Up Short

On Friday, the BASIS Phoenix Firebirds were beaten by the Camp Verde Cowboys 61-28. The Firebirds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jordan McMahon-Fullmer was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 37 points and 15 rebounds for Camp Verde. Another player making a difference was Alex Ruiz, who posted five points in addition to five assists and four steals.

BASIS Phoenix's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Camp Verde, they pushed their record up to 9-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

BASIS Phoenix has already played their next match, a 64-46 loss against Red Rock on the 13th. As for Camp Verde, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 71-67 defeat against Veritas Prep on the 13th.
