Basketball Recap: Western Christian Takes a Loss

Western Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were dealt a 73-42 defeat at the hands of the San Gabriel Academy Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Fighting Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 911th, while the Eagles are ranked 216th).

Western Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kevin Xiong, who posted 12 points. What's more, Xiong also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brian Wallace, who scored 13 points.

Western Christian's loss dropped their record down to 8-20. As for San Gabriel Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a massive bump to their 13-12 record this season.

As of now, neither Western Christian nor San Gabriel Academy have any future games scheduled.
