Preview: Maynard vs. Hudson
If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Maynard. On Friday they take on Hudson at 7:00 PM. Maynard have yet to lose; Hudson, on the other hand, are desperate for their first win.
Last Friday, Maynard put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season. They took their game against Oakmont Regional by a conclusive 44-21 score. That looming 23-point mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Maynard yet.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 0-47, which was the final score in Hudson's tilt against Nipmuc Regional.
Maynard's victory lifted them to 4-0 while Hudson's defeat dropped them down to 0-4. In their victory, Maynard relied heavily on junior Peter Jordan, who rushed for 137 yards and 2 touchdowns. Hudson will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
